Sometimes shopping can be a form of therapy. It’s easy to get lost in the aisles as you check out all of the items on the shelves. However, while taking time out of your day to spend walking around a store sounds like heaven to some, there are still rules to follow. In one Virginia store, a woman got angry when she was asked to abide by those rules.
A woman in Virginia didn’t take kindly to a retail employee at a Petco telling her that she needed to leave the store as it was closing. The female employee kept her composure and used a very calm and collected voice to speak to the woman. However, the customer didn’t offer the same courtesy.
“Hey, ma’am. We’re closed now, so unfortunately, you’re going to have to leave,” the employee tells the woman, revealing in her TikTok that the customer had already been in the store for two hours before closing.
Virginia Woman Loses Her Temper When Asked To Leave Pet Store At Closing Time
When the woman said she needed a bit more time, the worker told her no and she had a meltdown. “Don’t yell at me motherf—er. Don’t yell at me motherf—er,” she said repeatedly. “You need to leave please,” the employee replied in her calm voice. “I’m not staying here!” the woman screamed back as she put several plastic bags into one bag and loaded up a cart that she eventually pushed out of the store. “There’s no need to raise your voice,” the worker stated.
However, before leaving, the woman made sure her presence and agitation were known by screaming profanity that the TikTok poster decided to censor with funny cat noises. In the caption of the video, the employee revealed that this was a common occurrence with the woman, who would often come into the store and overstay her welcome.
“This woman would constantly come in and scream at us. She would be in the store for HOURS as well. This particular night she was already there for two hours prior, and I had told her we were closing soon and she kept telling me to ‘wait a second wait a second’ and then 15 minutes later I told her we were closed and this happened,” the caption reads.
“Ain’t nothing in Petco worth enough to be shopping for 2 hours,” one social media user commented on the video. “Very average retail experience LOL,” another stated. “I’ve always felt so bad for retail workers. For whatever reason, that’s the one job that crummy people seem to think you can outright abuse,” a third person chimed in. “I still have nightmares from working retail,” a fourth comment read.
Unfortunately, this Virginia retail experience is one that people across the country have dealt with. While most people offer common courtesy to retail workers, there are always a few who ruin it for the employees.
