Much maligned film director M. Night Shyamalan has new movie coming out. The film, titled The Visit, centers around a two innocent kids who go to live with their grandparents. Things take a turn for the worse when the grandparents set their bed time at 9:30. Big surprise, kids don’t want to go to bed, so they sneak out of their room. It turns out that the grandparents just don’t want the kids to see all the creepy stuff they do after dark.

Shyamalan’s last four or five films have been pretty lackluster, but the trailer provides some creepy imagery and an interesting premise. The film appears to switch back and forth between found-footage, interviews, and traditional camera work. Found footage has been pummeled to ground recently, but fingers crossed that Shyamalan uses those horror skills buried deep inside him to bring a fresh take to the genre.

The Visit is slated for release on September 11th and is rated PG-13 for spooky ghouls and ghosties. Check out the trailer below.
