Good news for the BTS ARMY: Another member of the K-pop group may be getting ready to drop solo music. This time, it’s V who’s rumored to have a solo album in the works. Over the years, the singer has shared snippets of unreleased projects on social media but has yet to make his solo debut officially. Although he once teased that he was working on a mixtape, he may have gone the extra mile and recorded a full-length album instead. Nothing is confirmed just yet, but fans are convinced V has something exciting up his sleeve.
V’s Solo Debut
The rumors began on July 19 when Sports Chosun reported V will be releasing a solo album sometime in 2023. BTS’ agency, BIG HIT MUSIC, responded to the report but neither confirmed nor denied anything. Instead, they told fans they’ll reveal more details about their artist’s projects once everything is confirmed. Of course, just the possibility of V’s solo debut this year excited fans. They even got the phrase “KTH1 IS COMING” trending on Twitter.
Since debuting as a member of BTS in 2013, V has recorded several solo songs under the group. In October 2016, he dropped “Stigma” as part of BTS’ Wings album. Then, in May 2018, he came out with “Intro: Singularity” for Love Yourself: Tear. In February 2020, he also released “Inner Child” for the group’s Map of the Soul: 7 album. In between records, V also shared songs like “Scenery” and “Winter Bear” on SoundCloud. He even recorded the track “Sweet Night” for the K-drama Itaewon Class.
After BTS announced they would go on a temporary hiatus in 2022, the possibility of V making his solo debut became closer than ever. Since the group began their break, every member has released music except for V. Most recently, Jungkook came out with his debut solo single, “Seven,” on July 14. If the latest rumors are true, then fans won’t have to wait long to hear V’s solo album.
