The game will focus on a now older Clementine, who we have journeyed with since the first season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead when she was only a small child. While also putting players in the shoes of a new protagonist, a young man named Javier, who is “determined to find the family taken from him.” A New Frontier is the third game in the mainline series, which has also seen single episode spinoff 400 Days and a miniseries focussing on the character Michonne.
As always gamers will be offered several ways in which to enjoy this experience. For $4.99 USD episode one can be purchased singularly or the season pass containing all five future episodes will be available for $24.99 USD. The game will release on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, iOS, and Android.
For those who would rather wait for a physical copy, for $29.99 USD, Telltale is releasing a disc version of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier on February 7th. The physical copy will provide access to each of the episodes as they become available.
Season one of Telltale’s The Walking Dead amassed considerable praise and many nods for the game of the year in 2012. While the second season was also met with relatively positive reviews. The third season will hopefully continue the series tradition of gripping narratives while improving visuals in their updated engine currently being used to create Telltale’s Batman series.
