War Mechanic Is a Tinkerer’s Dream in an Alternate World War II Timeline

Mechs, base-building, and warfare

Chronospace Games launched the reveal trailer for War Mechanic, an upcoming first-person simulator with base-building mechanics and much more. In an alternate timeline where World War II didn’t end, you’ll take on the role of a mechanic tinkering their way through this convoluted conflict. Instead of taking the fight to the trenches and grabbing your favorite assault rifle, you’ll be doing everything from the comfort of your base, accompanied by machines, crazy inventions, and other mechanical constructs.

As you can see in the reveal trailer, War Mechanic takes a different approach to this widely known historical period. In the game, World War II is still happening, and you’re managing a military base to get a favorable footing in this war. As the mechanic, you must rebuild the base to lead the US armies to victory. In truth, this is a terrific approach to one of the most well-known time periods in warfare games and one that explores the conflict from another perspective. However, the plot and setting aren’t the only great things about War Mechanic.

Once you get your base, you can expect a mix of strategic gameplay, resource management, base-building mechanics, base defense, exploration outside the confines of your HQ, and a complete narrative to go with all these elements.

Another interesting element about War Mechanic, and those with keen eyes might’ve spotted it already in the reveal trailer, but building your ride is also something you can expect to brave the war-torn lands. You’ll be able to collect different parts and materials to make your ideal Frankenstein-on-wheels. Fortunately, you won’t be alone in this, as robots will be around your base to help you.

While the release window is set for 2025, I have to say I’m quite excited to try War Mechanic. It’s an interesting take on World War II, and playing as a mechanic instead of a soldier is quite original. Plus, you can already see that Chronospace Games is aiming for an engaging simulator with top-notch humor and an intriguing art style, so sign me up for this patriotic adventure.
