Operation Eight Claw is the newest group event in Warframe, and like all group or clan events, there are plenty of rewards to reap. However, you can’t just jump in because there are certain requirements this time around. There’s also a new currency that you’ll need to farm to get those rewards. Here’s a guide to help you get started in Operation Eight Claw for Warframe.
Requirements for Operation: Eight Claw
You need to have completed the following requirements in order to access and take part in Operation Eight Claw:
- Unlock and finish The Duviri quest
- Unlock and finish The Hex quest
While the Operation Eight Claw notification and panel might be visible in the Navigation menu even if you haven’t completed those quests, you won’t be able to access the event. The good news is that the event lasts for 20 days (less than 19 days to go at the time of writing).
That duration should give you plenty of time to finish the requirements. Once you’ve fulfilled the requirements, you’ll unlock the Isleweaver content for the Duviri menu, and this is where you can participate in Operation Eight Claw.
Farming Dominus Aureus in Operation: Eight Claw
Follow these steps to play optimally and farm Operation: Eight Claw, assuming you want to maximize the rewards (especially if you’re strapped for time):
- Open the Navigation menu, select Duviri. Make sure you are queuing for a Public Squad or have friends to play with. It’s best to play in co-op mode to speed up the farming.
- Select Operation: Eight Claw “The Triumph of Dust”. Generally, it’s faster to run regular mode instead of Steel Path; the reward disparity isn’t too big between the two.
- Ideally, pick a Warframe and weapons you already have and have built properly. Otherwise, pick the tankiest Warframe in the Duviri selection.
- Finish all six stages of the Isleweaver mission and defeat the Fragmented boss. Also, the 5th stage always involves fighting Oraxia.
- You’ll need to repeatedly play Operation: Eight Claw – “The Triumph of Dust” to accumulate currency, Dominus Aureus.
- Go to Dominus Thrax in the Dormizone (he’s in the room before Acrithis), talk to him, and select Return Dominus Aureus.
- Pick a reward you want to buy. I recommend Arcanes first.
Dominus Aureus is the currency you need here to purchase. Each regular Isleweaver run rewards 18-22 Dominus Aureus while Steel Path runs reward 22-26. So if you’re confident that you or your teammates can finish Steel Path runs at the same speed as regular runs, then by all means, go for it.
You might notice that there are locked items in Dominus Thrax’s merchandise; those will be unlocked once your clan has filled the Dominus Aureus contribution meter, and every clan member’s purchase adds to it. So go help your clan by buying up those Arcanes.
