A Washington bride had to learn the hard way that her wedding day wasn’t going to be the perfect moment that she had previously envisioned. Unfortunately, the woman named Hannah had to deal with some major family drama and a bit of heartbreak leading up to her big day, but she stood her ground and didn’t waver when her own father tried to convince her to move her wedding date because he wanted to attend a local car show event instead.
In a recently uploaded TikTok video, the Washington bride recorded a phone call between her and her father, who can be heard telling his daughter that she made a mistake by scheduling her wedding for the same day as an annual car show called Rod Run.
It’s clear by the tone of his voice that he’s expecting his daughter to reschedule her wedding so that he can attend the event. He also suggests that people may not come to her wedding so that they can also go to the car show.
Washington Bride’s Father Refuses To Attend Wedding Because Of Local Car Show
“The day you’re getting married is the biggest f—ing event of the whole summer every year, it’s the end of the world Rod Run,” her father tells her. It’s then that things get heated.
Hannah’s then fiancé interupts and tells his soon-to-be father-in-law that he can just go to the car show. The two have some tense words before the exchange gets even more intense, and they begin using profanity. The father even threatens to “kick” his future son-in-law’s “a–.”
“You’re bringing up f—ing Rod Run when that has nothing to do — because that’s an every year thing — and that has nothing to do because we don’t get married every f—ing year,” the fiancé says.
Of course, TikTok had plenty to say after watching the video. Many of them were in shock that the woman’s father would be so selfish and not put her wedding at the top of his priority list, especially over a car show.
Others were thrilled to see that her future husband was quick to stand up for Hannah and was unafraid to confront her father about his behavior.
“Girl forget your dad, you have your husband,” one person stated. “Ummm the biggest event of year would be my daughter’s wedding,” said another. “I actually cried how your husband stood up for you,” a third person wrote.
In the caption of the post, it was revealed that Hannah’s father didn’t come to her wedding. Instead, she walked herself down the aisle. However, in a second TikTok video, she revealed that she wasn’t upset about her dad not escorting her on her big day. Instead, she was grateful for the man standing at the end of the aisle, smiling at her.
Sadly, this Washington bride had to deal with a heartbreaking moment before her wedding. However, it’s clear that she married a man who puts her first, which is something that her father couldn’t seem to do.
