People often say, “The bigger the city, the bigger the problems,” and they are right. While we suffer daily from many things around the places we live, certain situations are more annoying than others and affect people greatly. One such situation is the frustrating double parking situation that keeps happening in Washington. Some people have reported this happens often outside of specific supermarket stores, and sadly, authorities aren’t doing anything to enforce the traffic rules. Even worse, people know double parking is bad, but they continue to do it.
Redditor maringue caught the attention of many after they shared a picture of people double parking outside of a Walmart establishment in Washington. As you can see, the street is already crowded, but people do not seem to care about that at all.
However, the cherry on top of everything is what the OP shared on their post.
And the most absolutely infuriating part is that the blue SUV is turning into the PARKING GARAGE for this Walmart, yet there’s still 20 cars double parked in front.
If the above statement is true, we agree with the OP; it is absolutely infuriating. You see a car driving inside the parking garage, but the other 20 vehicles don’t have the common sense to do the same. Instead, they stick to double parking, which is as annoying as it is dangerous.
Other Redditors quickly shared their thoughts about the matter.
“Same on Georgia Ave NW northbound. Blocks a lot of traffic 🙃.” – PsychologicalDesk728 via Reddit.
“Does DC even have any traffic laws? Doesn’t feel like it to me.” – Sk3tchyG1ant via Reddit.
“I just moved to DC and the double parking throughout the city is WILD! I’ve never seen anything like it before, everyone just double parks anywhere they want, and doesn’t care the impact it has on traffic.” – lauren0987654321 via Reddit.
Opinions aside, what’s truly wild is that Washington authorities are not doing anything to prevent double parking. As the last user says, everyone double parks wherever they want. This impacts traffic greatly but can also lead to accidents. Hopefully, those in charge of enforcing the rules will do something about this situation. Double parking makes things worse for everyone, so it should be stopped eventually.
