As the proverbial noose tightens on the Epstein files, more information is coming to light. While some names found in the files elicited shocked reactions, the most recent hasn’t been much of a surprise to many following the news. As allegations come pouring out, Washington DC-based Dr. Mehmet Oz is the newest public figure to join a long list of those associated with Jeffrey Epstein.
An invitation to a Valentine’s Day party hosted by Mehmet and Lisa Oz was found among the files dated February 2016. This is nearly a decade after Epstein became a registered sex offender, raising criticism about interactions between the two. Records also show that Dr. Oz and Epstein had communicated via email exactly one month prior. What the subject matter was has yet to be determined, but it was sent from Dr. Oz’s production company email address.
Three years later, Dr. Oz had yet another connection to Epstein. He spoke with two Epstein accusers; however, he seemed baffled by their accounts, according to Yahoo! News. Since this information has surfaced, many are calling for Dr. Oz to resign. Trump’s continued support has not helped Dr. Oz’s public image. In fact, it has only strengthened the connection between him and the Epstein case. The plot only thickened when party invitations from Epstein addressed to Dr. Oz were discovered in 2012. Additionally, travel expenses paid by Epstein resurfaced from 2004, indicating a long-standing connection.
Public Reactions Are Hostile
Among the calls to resign are those who did not hold back their feelings about Dr. Oz’s association with Epstein. As news spread on Reddit, a range of emotions was directed toward the two. “Well, he did just go on record saying Americans should start working younger. Never realized what line of work he meant,” One Redditor surmises. Another replied, saying, “Let’s play this game – which Trump administration officials are NOT in the Epstein files? Most corrupt, depraved, and disgusting administration in the history of this country.”
Others spoke out directly about Trump, saying, “It’s becoming clear that Trump staffed his entire regime with people he had blackmail over. He learned from last time that if he doesn’t have total control, they’ll disagree and even stop him. This time, he wasn’t going to let that happen.” This was the general consensus, as another replied, “I get this angle. It could be that he’s a moron too and just selects people he knows of, and because he is a central figure in Jeffrey Epstein’s decades-long international pedophile ring, these are the people he knows.”
