The political landscape in Washington, D.C., has reached a boiling point following a celebratory announcement from the Trump administration regarding a massive reduction in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Secretary Brooke Rollins started a round of controversy after tweeting that 4.3 million citizens have been removed from the program, framing the purge as a victory for the American economy.
In a post shared on X, the Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins in Washington, D.C., proudly showed off a stunning stat: millions of people have fallen off SNAP benefits since Trump took office.
4.3 million off SNAP and counting! Under President Trump, Americans are getting back to work! Healthy employment numbers mean less reliance on government programs. Leaving benefits for those who truly need them. America is back in business!
Her stats are true. From a combination of policy changes, new rules against illegals and immigrants, and age restrictions, many have fallen off of SNAP benefits. She also talked about extensive fraud, where many were allegedly on SNAP despite having luxury cars and decent incomes. This caused a massive argument in her post between Democrats and Republicans.
“DEPORT the fraudsters. Get the lazy bums off of welfare.”
“Great start but SNAP needs to be decreased by at least 66%…. its still too easy to get on SNAP & Blue states will let virtually anyone get on the roles regardless of whether they need it or are even a Citizen”
“This just in 4.3 million people have a lot less food thanks to this HORRIBLE HUMAN BEING. SMH”
“Amazing on how MAGA loves showing their ability to destroy America lives and dreams not to mention the fact they are starving children. Stop the hate, vote MAGA out.”
While the administration’s admin claims that stronger protections are preventing the system from being scammed, opponents view the policy as a cruel attack on the poor. Local Democrats in D.C. warn that food scarcity is a major problem.
