A video has surfaced on the social media platform X that features the Mayor of Washington, D.C., Muriel Bowser, discussing housing aid. In it, she allegedly admits to taxpayer dollars being used to provide housing for illegal immigrants.

At the same hearing, Representative Brandon Gill appeared to be frustrated by this. Commenters in the replies also shared their frustrations, with many condemning Bowser’s beliefs.

The specific video in question was posted to the Wall Street Apes X profile. According to the caption, “Not a conspiracy theory. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser openly admits taxpayer dollars are being used to provide housing for illegals. Illegals are getting free subsidized housing vouchers. But it doesn’t stop there. Tax dollars are also being funneled to NGOs to pay for housing for illegals.”

Representative Brandon Gill asked Bowser, “Do you think that giving free housing to illegal aliens is an appropriate use of tax dollars?” In response, Bowser replied, “We think if it keeps people off the streets then we have to keep people off the streets.“

After this, audience members began applauding. Representative Gill continued to ask questions concerning subsidized housing, which resulted in the two speaking over one another before Gill ended the conversation, saying, “You’re lobbying for that. Using tax dollars to provide NGOs that are lobbying to get free housing for illegal aliens. In your city. That makes your city less, less safe.”

For additional clarification, the caption of the post says, “Illegals for rental help and rapid rehousing-style payments. DC spent tens of millions overall on aid for illegals Think about this, while you can’t buy a home or even afford your rent, your tax money is being taken and used to pay rent for illegals Where are the prison sentences for politicians. How is this not treason.”

Reactions to Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s Response to Brandon Gill

Various commenters took to the replies to share their opinions on the situation. One person in particular wrote, “Citizens are treated like walking ATMs now… Work, pay taxes, stay silent, and fund policies you never voted for. Then if you question it, they call you heartless instead of answering where the money actually goes.”

Another account commented, asking for more in-depth questions to be answered, writing, “Does that mean there are zero homeless citizens or veterans in DC? And which NGO’s / Political donors are expected to benefit/stuff their pockets at taxpayer expense? Ask the hard questions.“

As this video continues to gain momentum on X, more and more commenters are leaving their opinions on the replies and citing their frustrations.
