A woman in Seattle, Washington, claimed that she “died” from a cardiac arrest only to be resuscitated by the help of multiple firefighters. Days later, after being discharged, she was astounded to learn that the city is planning to cut millions in firefighter funding.
TikToker Hellcat Hysteria shared her cardiac arrest story online. She is a content creator who regularly uploads her thoughts and vlogs. The clip attached above became one of her biggest in a matter of days. It garnered 506,000 views, 105,300 likes, and more than 400 comments.
While the 27-second video touches briefly on the medical episode the Washington woman went through, she did share what had occurred previously. According to her, she had gone into cardiac arrest as a result of pneumonia, suffering a fall that bruised her face. She said that she had “died” but was promptly resuscitated by a total of 13 different firefighters who gave her chest compressions for an hour.
Hospitalized, Hellcat was able to make a borderline miraculous recovery, even though she also suffered from refeeding syndrome, she said. However, when she was discharged from the hospital, she soon found out that the city was planning on making substantial cuts to Seattle’s fire department.
As reported by KING5, Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson’s administration proposed a $7.1 million fire department cut from its overtime fund. Union leaders and firefighters have since criticized this proposal and have warned about a lack of on-duty firefighters.
“I think they deserve their [expletive] funding. Now, I’m raged. I’m raged. I have now become a firemen advocate,” the Washington woman added.
