If there’s anything more dangerous than a vehicle going 60 MPH or above, it’s a vehicle driven by an angry, unhinged person going 60 MPH or above. In a video shared on r/dashcams, Reddit user Randompatchguy barely missed a deadly collision with a semi-truck while merging into a Texas expressway lane. The reason? Another driver, allegedly upset that Patch Guy wasn’t going fast enough, PIT-maneuvered himself on the highway.
Patch Guy explained that he was merging from a left lane onto an expressway and accused the driver behind him of being angry he wasn’t going fast enough. In a move seemingly meant to cut off OP, which is dangerous enough at 60+ MPH, this driver got too close, PITting himself and spinning about on the expressway. Patch Guy was almost sent straight into an oncoming semi, which could have ended very tragically.
Fortunately for the pair, neither was reportedly hurt. Patch Guy said he didn’t bother getting out of the vehicle but instead waited patiently for the police to arrive. The other driver did approach his car and snap photos of the license plates, but that was about it. The rather unsettling yet calm way the alleged culprit acted could indicate he hadn’t deliberately tried to get them into an accident.
Reddit Slammed the Other Driver for His Poor Attempt
Redditors remarked that it was ridiculous to imagine the PIT-maneuvering driver not to regret his poor decision to cut Patch Guy off, on an expressway no less. One user pondered, “I wonder if, during the 5 seconds between making contact and his car coming to a stop, there was an instant in which he reevaluated his choices and thought, ‘Geez, maybe I overdid it a bit this time.’”

For anyone wishing for a satisfying arrest ending to Patch Guy’s story, that isn’t how it went. The cops who came to the scene apparently didn’t bother filing charges. “The Dallas police department does not normally file charges on vehicle accidents resulting in property damage only, unless the officer witnessed the accident.” -Note from officer with report number,” OP recalled.
