Marvel Studios just dropped a new minute-long trailer for their much-anticipated upcoming show, WandaVision, featuring a cheesy new theme song, and all-new footage!
The trailer, subtitled “New Era,” shows off just how weird the show is going to be. Directed by Matt Shakman, the series follows Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they live out idyllic suburban lives in classic black-and-white television sitcom style. However, with this being a superhero universe, things slowly turn strange. There’s no doubt we’re in for a journey, unlike anything the Marvel Cinematic Universe has offered us before. WandaVision promises something unique and visionary to the superhero genre.

Of course, you cannot watch the New Era teaser without noticing the striking new cheesy ’50s inspired theme. In fact, the new theme comes from Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, best known as the songwriters of Disney’s Frozen. Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are not messing around with the team behind WandaVision!
Composer Lopez said in a statement:
WandaVision is such a cool, strange, one-of-a-kind project. When the director, Matt Shakman—an old friend from my college days—pitched it to us, we didn’t have to think about it. We loved the bright feeling of American sitcoms mixed with the deep sense of unease the story had, and it was a really inviting challenge to help set that tone.”
Coupled with the new TV spot, we also have confirmation of how many episodes the first season will contain. While it was previously thought that it would only have six episodes, the streaming service has confirmed the first season will run for nine episodes. Things just keep getting better!
WandaVision hits Disney Plus for streaming on January 15! Will you be watching? Do you think it will live up to expectations? Let us know in the comments below!
