It may not seem like a big deal at first, but everyone in the state knows just how bad the drought has been, which makes this accident quite untimely and unfortunate for many.
This concerned Ojai citizens shared the video on Reddit. According to them, they were driving through El Roblar Drive when they spotted the hydrant burst. As you can see, it isn’t a small thing, as water is pouring out from all directions. Fortunately, it seems the authorities’ response was pretty quick, as you can also observe a few Sheriff vehicles already on the scene.
However, the alarming part is that no one knows how long this has been going on. As you can see in the video, it seems the bursting happened a while ago. Plus, it isn’t a small quantity, as you can see the water already running down the road.
The situation gathered different opinions, with a few people throwing some fun remarks, saying that kids around the block would have a blast during the hydrant burst, and a few others claiming this is basically a free car wash. Yet, the truth is that other people from California are worried about this because, if you didn’t know, the drought has been affecting a lot of citizens in the state.

Other Redditors got angry at the police officers who just drove by and did nothing. However, and to be realistic, what can they do?
