A new threat is emerging from the multiverse, and a team of Wolverines is Marvel’s only hope in Weapon X-Men. From Original X-Men writer Christos Gage and artist Yildiray Cinar, the four-issue series features Wolverines from across the multiverse. These will be fan-favorite versions of the quick-healing mutant from different Marvel realities, like the Age of Apocalypse Wolverine. Plus, it is set to introduce a new version of the X-Man never seen before.
Weapon X-Men
Weapon X-Men will spin out of Gage’s other Marvel endeavor, Original X-Men #1. This special anniversary one-shot finds the original five X-Men being recruited by the Phoenix. This includes Cyclops, Jean Grey (Marvel Girl), Beast, Ice Man, and Angel. Together, they must work to stop a multiversal disaster. However, it looks like the original five will not be enough to stop whatever the Phoenix is worried about. So, who better tackle a monumental threat than a team of the most dangerous mutants out there.
The Multiverse of Logans will band together from different realities to try and save the world. Familiar versions of the clawed mutant will come together in Weapon X-Men. They include the fan-favorite Old Man Logan, the Age of Apocalypse Wolverine, Earth X Wolverine, and even Zombie Wolverine. Additionally, a newcomer from Earth-1281 called Jane Howlett will make their debut. Surely, this group of Wolverines is strong enough to put an end to whatever the Phoenix is afraid of.
Gage’s Dream Come True
Speaking about working on Weapon X-Men, Christos Gage shared that it is the perfect Christmas gift. The writer is more than happy to dive into the Marvel Multiverse in Original X-Men and then continue to explore it in Weapon X-Men. Plus, working closely with a talent like Yildiray Cinar is the icing on the cake. Gage is eager for readers to experience a team made up completely of Wolverines. Plus, the team is packing a ton of action, story, character moments, pathos, and some literal Earth-shattering moments in these four issues.
