The website GameTrailers caused a moment of grief for the gaming community when they announced their immediate shutdown. The announcement came as a shock to most as the site recently made mention of making changes on their forums and website. GameTrailers members recently transitioned to a new account system for use on their forums.

In its thirteen years of operation, the website helped to pave the way for other platforms used for information pertaining to gaming. The creators gave the hope of getting into the video game industry while starting as a nobody. So the shock of the website shutting down is felt by many.
The folks over at GameTrailers did leave one last glimmer of hope before saying goodbye forever. There is one last upload on their Twitch channel. In the video titled Our Last Stream – Back to Liberty City the folks over at GameTrailers gave their fan base one last video with them playing GTA 3. While not a new game, the chosen game no doubt gave viewers feelings of nostalgia bundled with remorse. They will be missed.
