Wendy Williams is making her return to the public. Many fans of the former daytime talk show icon have expressed concerns over her absence of public presence over the last year or so. Now, we’re finding out what Wendy has been up to in a vulnerable look at her struggles in her relationships, with addiction, and with her financial state in a new documentary airing later this month.
A New Documentary About Wendy’s Recent Life Was Announced on Friday
On Friday, Lifetime announced Where Is Wendy Williams?, which catches up with the 59-year-old TV and radio personality as she gets candid about all the drama that’s played out publicly in recent years and what’s happened since she has taken time away.
“If it could happen to me, it could happen to you,” she warns.
Though Wendy shows hints of her signature personality throughout the trailer, longtime fans may find it distressing to watch, as it is clear that she’s experiencing genuine anguish at the direction her life has taken. You also see a woman determined to make the best of a bad situation, but struggling all the while.

The documentary, which also features insights from Wendy’s family members, explains what has happened thus far and how Williams is coping with her current situation.
Wendy’s sister Wanda appears asking that people be more sympathetic to what Wendy had been through. “We all make choices in life. We all go through our challenges. She’s still a person,” she says.
Wanda also laments a power struggle in trying to become legally responsible for Wendy, who was put under a financial conservatorship that resulted in a legal battle with her bank, Wells Fargo.
We are her family and you tell me that I’m not capable of taking care of my sister. What would you do? What should I do?”
