Your favorite HBO obsession (besides Game of Thrones) is returning soon. Westworld‘s second season will debut on April 22, and HBO has got the hype train running full steam ahead. Check out the new trailer for the second season below, which shows off some new scenes in Shogun World, and features quite a bit of Bernard, Dolores, and Maeve:

It took a bit to place it, but that is Heart-Shaped Box echoing forth from the old-timey player piano. And my favorite, Hector, gets to continue playing a role in things.
The first season of Westworld ended with quite a bang, and answered a bunch of questions and fan theories that had been floating around since the very first episode. However, it also opened the door to a much bigger world, and it looks like season two will start to explore those new ideas. If anything, it looks like this season will have a lot more forward momentum, as the host uprising is already in full swing, and it looks like some big-time set pieces are on the way.
Also, Shogun World.
When we first saw the images of hosts dressed in ancient Japanese battle armor, we weren’t sure if that was just a little hint at a larger world or if it would be something that would play a bigger role. Judging from the footage we’ve seen, Shogun World will feature in the second season, which also opens up the possibility for all sorts of other realms that HBO is currently holding back from us. Pirate World? Prehistoric World? Who knows what else Delos offers to their high-paying guests?
Westworld will return to HBO Sunday, April 22. We will keep you updated on any information up until then, and will also return with our reviews the night after each episode. Stay tuned for more on Westworld as it becomes available.
