Honkai Star Rail sticks to the HoYoverse formula: colorful characters, a ton of lore, and enough names to make George R.R. Martin blush. That’s great for world-building, but it can make keeping track of everything tough. Even well-written heroes can become a blur when the canon is so vast. It doesn’t help that you can rename the Trailblazers’ at the beginning of the game, setting aside their canonical names for good. If that’s the key to writing your own legend, we won’t complain, however. At least they aren’t named March 7th. Here are the main characters’ canon names in Honkai Star Rail.
What Are Trailblazer Canon Names in Honkai Star Rail?
(Updated on August 22, 2024 – updated intro, explanation, images, and links)
At the beginning of Honkai Star Rail, we meet the Trailblazers aboard Herta Space Station. In a game containing characters named March 7th, Boothill, and Dr. Ratio, this could go wrong in a lot of ways. Thankfully, both versions of Trailblazer have pleasant canonical names in Honkai Star Rail:
- Male Protagonist – Receptacle Caelus
- Female Protagonist – Receptacle Stelle
Although you can swap your main character’s name after the intro, you won’t be able to swap their model, so take care with your initial selection. That’s not the end of the customization available to you, either. Caelus / Stella / your Trailblazer has the Destruction path and Physical element initially, but you can change that over time. The name and model you choose won’t affect gameplay, so no harm can come from getting creative with the Trailblazer’s name. No more silent HoYoverse protagonists this time! Caelus and Stella do a great job as voiced heroes, whether or not you name them something silly.
