Players wonder what the term Hacker Detected means inย Phasmophobia. The game is a co-operateย horror gameย where players team up to discover ghosts in a haunted location. You playย Phasmophobiaย in first-person and are defenseless against hostile spirits. You mustย collect enough proofย that the place is haunted and earn monetary rewards for proving phantoms exist. The game became a favorite among horror enthusiasts and YouTubers, gaining praise for being genuinely scary. What’s more frightening than the spirits in the game is coming across a glitch like Hacker is Detected inย Phasmophobia.

What Is Hacker Detected in Phasmophobia?

Every player has an ID card with a picture of their player in Phasmophobia. You can see your card between games to see your name when you are ready for a match, along with your experience bar. Your ID card also flashes at the end of every playthrough to show how many experience points you’ve earned.

Players have been reporting seeing Hacker Detected below Level on their IDs in Phasmophobia. These players’ IDs also don’t appear to be earning experience points from their match. Hacker Detected is a glitch that mistakenly flags certain players as being hackers. It’s been reported that the bug has become more common after downloading the Ascension update.

The glitch doesn’t mean you or the other players in your lobby are using hacks, so you don’t need to worry about that. You also don’t need to worry about losing experience points. Your points are still added to your profile; you just don’t see it with the glitch.

Can You Fix the Hacker Detected Glitch in Phasmophobia?

Fortunately, fixing the Hacker Detected glitch is very easy in Phasmophobia. If you or anyone else in your lobby sees Hacker Detected on their card, simply Reload the Lobby. Have everyone exit and create a new one. Hacker Detected should disappear from your cards once you’ve all entered the new lobby, but communicate with the other players to make sure no one has the glitch.

If Hacker Detected is still on your card, you should reload the lobby again. You can contact Kinetic Games if you continue seeing the glitch. To reach the developers that created Phasmophobia, you can write an email or message them via their Discord server.

We speculate the developers will eventually patch up the Hacker Detected glitch at a later date. Until then, your best option to get rid of it is to restart the lobby.
