Making your character the toughest in the Three Seas is what Blox Fruits has always been about, and with the addition of subclasses, this Roblox RPG is deeper than ever. Update 23 Part 1 brought more than just limited-time bundles and holiday content to the game. It also added subclasses, a mechanic that adds a great deal of depth and variety to players’ builds. As of Update 23, however, only one subclass exists in the game: the Shipwright. Whether you’re a Human or an Angel, you’ll want to know what subclasses do. So what exactly is a subclass in Blox Fruits?
Blox Fruits Shipwright and Other Subclasses
In Blox Fruits, a subclass acts much like a profession does in other RPGs. At their most basic, subclasses expand your character’s options for interacting with objects, the world, and other players. The first subclass to join the game is the Shipwright, a subclass devoted to repairing ships. Between Leviathans and ship raids, it’s easy for your ship to get wrecked on the high seas, so having an entire subclass devoted to fixing them is great. The Shipwright offers players the following subclass abilities:
Repair | Allows players to harvest wood from trees and use it to repair damaged boats. Each Wooden Plank restores 10 HP. | – | – |
Plank Scavenger | Improves the likelihood that trees will drop more Wooden Planks when destroyed. | 500 Valor 1,000 Fragments | 5 |
Blueprint Specialist | Increases the amount of lost HP that the Repair ability restores to a boat. | 1,000 Valor 1,500 Fragments | 12 |
Hull Mechanic | Allows the user to increase a boat’s Max HP in the boats minigame | 1,800 Valor 2,000 Fragments | 18 |
Heavy Hammer | Stuns no longer prevent the player from repairing a ship. | 5,000 Valor 3,000 Fragments | 25 |
To level up a subclass in Blox Fruits, you need to engage in that subclass’s core mechanic (in the case of the Shipwright, boat repair) and have both Fragments and Valor to spend. The developer has already expressed its desire to add more subclasses to the game, so even though Update 23 only added the Shipwright, players should have more subclasses to choose from soon. It’s easy to imagine professions like chef or tailor appearing as subclasses, as those are the kinds of roles that this nautical RPG seems destined for. Time will tell how the list of subclasses will grow.
