Sailing, smashing monsters, and clambering up ledges are only part of what Sea of Stars is about. Developing your character’s story and stats plays a crucial role throughout the game. The game’s level cap provides a concrete end goal for Zale, Artificer, and the gang. Take the Sun Blade to enough enemies and you’ll eventually hit the apex of your potential. So what is the max level in Sea of Stars and what do you need to know on the long grind to get there?

The maximum level achievable in Sea of Stars is capped at 30, providing players with a clear understanding of their progression goals. While this level cap might seem low, leveling up in Sea of Stars isn’t simple, even for heroes like Garl and Resh’an. A standard playthrough might take 25 hours, with 100% runs taking closer to 40-45. Grinding to Level 30 is a long road, but it’s worth it for the bonuses you’ll get along the way. Here are all six that you can earn as you progress:
- HP
- Mana Points
- Physical Attack
- Physical Defense
- Magic Attack
- Magic Defense
Since you don’t choose classes or skills in Sea of Stars, level advancement is an even more important measurement of progress than it is in most RPGs. You can choose from four of the six possibilities each time you level up. As you’d imagine, Glass Golem B’st favors different upgrades than a lunar monk like Valere. Play to each character’s strengths as you develop them and you won’t have to wait until they’re Level 30 to be formidable fighters. Instead, the Level Cap can be a badge, signifying your accomplishments.
