Diablo 4 and its seasonal content are, for the most part, going well and getting stronger every season. Now that Diablo 4 Season 5 is nearing its first month, Diablo 4 Season 6 is drawing ever closer. It’s also bound to be more special than ever because this upcoming season will coincide with the expansion, Vessel of Hatred.

As such, Diablo 4 Season 6 is going to be released on October 8, 2024. It shares the same release date with Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred. Of course, unlike the expansion, Diablo 4 Season 6 will not stay, though some of its features might become permanent. All Diablo 4 Seasons only last for around three months on average. Diablo 4 Season 5 is notably shorter, lasting only two months.

You can also test out Season 6 earlier since the developers will hold a PTR or Public Test Realm for it while the current is ongoing, similar to the previous content. However, this PTR will most likely not feature the Vessel of Hatred content so as not to spoil much or anything at all.

Diablo 4 Season 6 Will Come With New, Big Features

[Updated on August 27, 2024 – Guide revised to focus on the upcoming Diablo 4 Season 6]

Apart from the expansion and the new questline it brings with it, the upcoming season is also poised to effect some dramatic changes to the core Diablo 4 mechanics. The developers have given a list or some teasers of what to expect.

  • Adjustments to navigation:
    • Auto-Pin New Quests
    • Audio Navigation Assistance
    • HUD Compass
  • New seasonal mechanic and content
  • New enemies
  • New dungeons
  • New items
  • Level cap reduction or readjustment
  • Possible quality-of-life updates

Among those quality-of-life updates, apparently, a loot filter is in the developers’ sights thanks to player feedback. On top of that, there will also be a Mercenary system and the new class that Vessel of Hatred will add to the fray.
