The Fireproof lizard is a rare yet essential ingredient in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is therefore important to know where to farm Fireproof Lizards in Breath of the Wild. Without this knowledge, it can be challenging to progress through the extremely hot Eldin region. The high temperatures can cause damage to Link’s abilities and make it difficult to navigate certain areas.

The lizard has a natural resistance to fire due to a special coating on its skin. Because of this natural feature, it can can be cooked with monster parts to create fireproof Elixirs. These consumables provide a temporary boost to Link’s abilities through fire resistance. A player needs this resistance when traversing hot areas, such as Death Mountain, or when facing enemies that use fire-based attacks.

Where to find the Fireproof Lizards in Breath of the Wild

Here is a list of several spots where the Fireproof Lizards can be found:

  1. Southern Mine: There is a rocky area just south of the Southern Mine where you can find Fireproof Lizards under rocks and boulders. When you are here, look for any that you can lift or destroy to reveal potential hiding spots.
  2. Goronbi River: It is a long river that runs through the southern part of the Eldin region and is surrounded by rocky terrain and steep cliffs. In Breath of the Wild, players can travel south from the Death Mountain region or northwest from the Abandoned North Mine area to reach the Goronbi River. The river can also be accessed by traveling along the road. This road leads to the Goron City, which is the main hub of the Eldin region.
  3. Abandoned North Mine: This is a large abandoned mine located north of Death Mountain and south of Goron City. It is a dangerous place because of its high temperatures and steep cliffs, so when playing, be cautious and prepared before exploring it.

Note that their exact location and frequency can vary. Some players may find it easier to locate than others.

How do you identify the Fireproof Lizards in Breath of the Wild?

While exploring in these spots, look out for a small, dark-colored creature hiding under rocks. They are easily spooked, so it may take some patience and a careful approach to catch them. To obtain Fireproof Lizards in Breath of the Wild, players can catch them using a Bug Net or by using arrows. Be sure to listen out for a distinctive chirping sound that Fireproof Lizards make to locate them more easily. Using stealth armor or crouching can also help you get closer to the lizards without startling them. Keep in mind that Fireproof Lizards can also be traded for valuable items, such as Fireproof Elixirs and Flamebreaker Armor.
