If it glows, it goes.

This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

That’s not a firefly you see wandering in the dark. That’s a Glowing Creature, one of Fallout 76‘s most illuminating enemies. Glowing Creatures aren’t as commonplace as Ghouls or as lethal as Deathclaws, but it’s a good idea to get familiar with them. That’s because you’ll need to kill these irradiated irritants to complete a certain Daily and cash in your S.C.O.R.E. for Perk Card Packs and C.A.M.P. items. Besides, underestimating radiation monsters tends to go poorly. Whether you’re trying to rack up S.C.O.R.E. or avoid a radioactive run-in, here’s where you can find Glowing Creatures in Fallout 76.

Once you know where to look, tracking down Glowing Creatures shouldn’t be much more difficult than finding cultists. Glowing Creatures glow because of their radiation exposure, which is the first big clue. To find them, you’ll want to search in areas with high radiation. Here are some good places to look:

  • Toxic Larry’s Meat ‘n Go
  • Hemlock Holes
  • Abbie’s Bunker

Thankfully, Glowing Creatures emit a distinct humming sound. If you listen closely you should be able to track them from a distance. Another useful trick is to watch for glowing mushrooms, as they spawn in the same areas as Glowing Creatures. If the mushrooms look like nightlights, you can bet the monsters will too.

The radioactive glow also makes these creatures easier to spot at night. If you’re open to nocturnal adventures, hunting in the dark can make things easier (assuming you don’t get eaten). Just remember to bring a flashlight or night-vision goggles so you don’t wander into any unpleasant surprises. It’s also advisable to bring some Radaway and Rad-X to deal with the high radiation levels you’ll face. Completing your Dailies isn’t worth much if you end up looking like the Toxic Avenger, after all.

Fallout 76 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
