The Golden Skull in DMZ is a rare item you need to find for various reasons. Completing a mission, unlocking your third weapon slot, or maybe you need this item for crafting a secure backpack. Whatever the case, finding a Golden Skull can become a headache after playing hours and hours searching for it. That’s why in this new DMZ guide, we will show you the best ways to find this item. Let’s get started!
How to Find a Golden Skull in DMZ
There are many ways to find this item, but here we’re listing the easiest ones to snatch a Golden Skull in DMZ. You can find this item by looting certain areas, doing contracts, and killing enemy bosses. Let’s dive into the details.
Supply Drops
You’ll hear a voiceover stating that some supply drops have been deployed when you’re playing DMZ on Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, or Vondel maps. This happens when you pass nearly 10 minutes on either of the maps. Then you can see these airdrops with black and brown marks on the map. Loot them, and you’ll probably find a Golden Skull easily.
However, you must be careful about other enemy players trying to reach these boxes. You should also note that holding the interaction key to open these drops takes a few seconds. And the last piece of advice about these airdrops; they drop too late! It takes nearly 2 minutes for these boxes to touch the ground, so there’s no need to rush.
Contracts
Another good way of finding Golden Skull in DMZ is by completing contracts. Not every contract you see on the map though. What you need is a Destroy Supplies or an Intel contract. These in-game assignments are on each DMZ map, except for Koschei Complex and Building 21.
Finding Safes With Destroy Supplies
Destroy Supplies is a straightforward contract to complete. It’s like winning two matches of Search and Destroy against enemy AI units on an open-world map. When you pick it, the game will mark two supply caches nearby. Reach them, plant the bomb, and turn them into ashes. What do you get next? Of course, you’ll receive some cash for it. But the important bonus is that the game will mark nearby safes ready to get drilled.
The safes spawn randomly inside the buildings of each map when you start a match. After the Destroy Supplies contract is complete, you can easily find and open many of them. These safes contain important loot, including the Golden Skull item in the DMZ mode.
Killing Enemy Commanders With Secure Intel Contracts
This is one of the best ways to find the Golden Skull in DMZ. Many of the bosses inside the DMZ maps have a Golden Skull in each match. The chance of getting this item after killing a boss is very high. And that’s why we need to run a certain contract to find them.
First things first, pick a Secure Intel contract. These contracts are usually found in Al Mazrah and Ashika Island. And they’ll ask you to find a drive in a marked area and then upload its files from an upload center. The upload centers are the tall radio towers around the maps.

How to Complete Firing Power DMZ Mission
After you found and completed an Intel contract, it’ll mark an enemy operator’s location for you. It’ll usually show the location of the Scavenger, who carries a Golden Skull with him in most of the DMZ matches. Kill him, and you’ll be rewarded with good loot. Also, you can kill the Bullfrog in Vondel to get a Golden Skull! Follow the guide on the related post above for more info on how to kill the Bullfrog.
Restricted Areas Might Contain Golden Skull Items in DMZ
You’ve got some keys for specific locations on the DMZ maps? Use them in their place! Many of the restricted locations on the DMZ maps offer worthy loot. Places like the Aquarium in Vondel or the U.S. Embassy in Al Mazrah are among those. You might also face a boss called the Pyro inside the embassy, another person who might carry a Golden Skull with him.
And that’s it for how to find a Golden Skull in DMZ for you! All these methods will give you a high chance of finding this item in the DMZ mode. And you run all of them in a single DMZ match if you don’t die and avoid player conflicts.
