Madness Ore is an extremely rare resource available in the Saints and Seducers DLC. With it, you can craft one of the best armors in the game, although it will be quite heavy. And here, we’ll show you where to find and how to forge Madness Ore in Skyrim. Both of these steps are quite complicated, so get your horses and swords ready, and let’s get started.
How To Obtain Madness Ore in Skyrim
As mentioned above, Madness Ore will be quite difficult to obtain and there are generally two ways to do it. The first one will be interesting for those who like fights and challenges and involves killing bosses in dungeons. You can find a lot of dungeons traveling around the world, but you should be well-prepared before the fight because these bosses are powerful. As soon as you kill one of them, you can loot the chest to get a variety of rewards, including Madness Ore.
The second method will appeal to players focused on completing quests. In this case, you will need to follow the storyline of the Saints and Seducers DLC. When you complete this quest line, you will receive a letter from Ri’saad informing you of new items for sale. From there, all you need to do is find the Khajiit merchants. Ri’saad himself is located between Whiterun and Markarth, but if that’s too far for you, you can go in search of another merchant who can be found on the path between Dawnstar and Riften.
Skyrim: How To Forge Madness Ore
As soon as you find some Madness Ore in Skyrim, you will be wondering how you can use them. First of all, you’ll need to defeat Thoron to trigger new quests. One of them will be to find the blacksmith Evethra, and only she knows how to forge Madness Ore. So, go in search of this boss and kill her to find the journal and read it to find the information you need.
Once you do that, you can eventually create anything you want if you have enough ore. The arsenal of weapons and armor that you can craft is quite large, so you can almost completely outfit your character in Madness gear. Here’s a list of the armor and weapons you can craft:
- Madness Armor

- Madness Boots
- Madness Battleaxe
- Madness Gauntlets
- Madness Bow
- Madness Helmet
- Madness Dagger
- Madness Shield
- Madness Greatsword
