For quite some time, Terraria fans eagerly awaited additional updates or even a sequel to follow up with the original. Well, that update recently arrived, and with it came new critters like the Mystic Frog. They join the ranks of the robust critter population already in the game. Also, they’re like the other non-harmful critters roaming around the various biomes just living their lives. However, Mystic Frogs don’t always want you to see them or catch them. We’ll show you how you can catch the Mystic Frogs in the latest Terraria update as well as what they can do for you.

Terraria Mystic Frogs Location Update

Thanks to the latest Terraria update dubbed “Labor of Love”, the game added numerous features and improvements. The Mystic Frogs came along with the update, and players are curious to discover these new critters.

So, what is a Mystic Frog in Terraria? Well, a Mystic Frog is an amphibian with a tan and pink color pattern. They’re a bit jumpy, and they can be killed by monsters if they stumble upon them.

You can only find Mystic Frogs in the Jungle biome. As their name implies, they tend to hang out around waterfalls or other water-based areas. These are plentiful in the Jungle biome. So, it shouldn’t take you too long to come across Mystic Frogs in Terraria. Spawns are random, but you can use the Lifeform Analyzer to detect them. Also, consider having a town inside the biome to increase the rate that critters spawn.

These even have a faint glow to them when in the dark, so they’re hard to miss.

The thing that may take you some time is catching a Mystic Frog. Using a net won’t do. This is because, in Terraria, Mystic Frogs will vanish in a puff of smoke. To catch them, you’ll want to use Purification Powder. If you don’t have any, head to Dryad to purchase some for 75 copper coins. You can do so as long as there isn’t an active Blood Moon.

When you use the Purification Powder on Mystic Frogs in Terraria, they will turn into Mystic Slime, a new Town Pet.
