Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Find Catch Rockruff

Rockruff is a 7th Generation Pokémon that you can find wandering in the new Paldea region. A Rock-type Pokémon, Rockruff has a sweet look and nature of a puppy when young. However, they do evolve into a vicious species that still maintains a love and respect for their trainer. But before getting there, you must find Rockruff in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Well, they enjoy mountainous areas. So, look in the rocky areas at the following locations:

  • Asado Desert
  • East Province (Area One)
  • South Province (Areas One, Two, Three, Four, Five)
  • West Province (Area One)

In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can find and catch Rockruff at all times during the day and night. Also, they are not a rare spawn. So, although the area they do spawn at is rather large, you have a good chance of finding them quickly.

Beyond filling up the Pokédex, Rockruff is a cool companion to add if you want a nostalgic Pokémon in your bag. Also, they are a solid Rock-type to have on the team if you lack one.

When you find Rockruff in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they can have these base stats:

  • HP: 45
  • Attack: 65
  • Defense: 40
  • Special Attack: 30
  • Special Defense: 40
  • Speed: 60

An always exciting feature about Rockruff is how it evolves. Although they always turn into wolf-like creatures, Rockruff has three potential evolutions depending on the time of day. If they evolve at Level 25 during the daytime, Rockruff changes into Lycanroc Midday. Evolving at Level 25 during the nighttime changes Rockruff into Lycanroc Midnight. Lastly, evolving at Level 25 when the Ability is “Own Tempo,” Rockruff transforms into Lycanroc Dusk.

If you want all of these, then it’s time to set out to find Rockruff in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
