The Goat Pen Master Key is one of the first hidden items players will encounter in Dead Island 2. During your time in Hel-A, you will discover many locked chests, safes, and doors that require a specific named key to unlock. One of the first locations in the game is a mansion called the Goat Pen.  It’s a house built for a group of streamers and social media models trying to capitalize on the zombie invasion for clicks. This guide will explain where to find the Goat Pen Master Key in Dead Island 2.

How To Find the Goat Pen Master Key in Dead Island 2

The Goat Pen is a location players will come across reasonably early in Dead Island 2’s campaign. It’s a multi-level home full of streaming rooms, energy drinks, and zombies galore. Multiple rooms of the Goat Pen will be locked, either by the Goat Ken Key Card or the Goat Pen Master Key. To find the Goat Pen Master Keys, you must wait until much later in the campaign. You can find these keys once you reach Venice Beach and unlock Fast Travel. To begin the quest steps below, you need to rescue Curtis early in the campaign and make sure he has decided to take shelter at Emma Jaunts’ estate.

Once you unlock Fast Travel after reaching Venice Beach, you must follow these steps.

  1. Travel to Emma Jaunts’ mansion and speak to Curtis in the basement. He will give you the “Creature Comforts” side quest. The Goat Pen will then be marked on your mini-map and in-game compass.
  2. Travel to the Goat Pen. It will be full of zombies, so prepare for combat.
  3. On the bottom floor of the Goat Pen, you will find a specially named zombie called Goat Pen Jamie lurking around.
  4. Defeat Jamie and they will drop the Goat Pen Master Keys. Tread carefully, as he will be flanked by Screamer zombies who will prove troublesome.

Once you have the keys, you can unlock the wine cellar and the master bedroom. After you procure cigars for Curtis, you can return to him and complete the quest. For your trouble, he will give you his rifle, a named sniper rifle called Peggy. Take advantage of this gun to deal long-range damage and make short work of anything Dead Island 2 throws at you.

Dead Island 2 is available on PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5.
