Like every other role-playing game, upgrading your gears and equipment is necessary to progress in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. To upgrade them you must find the required items and Griffin Feathers is one of the items. Getting and farming Griffin feathers can be confusing in Granblue Fantasy: Relink so here is a thorough guide on both subjects.

Upgrading each gear and Sigil in Granblue Fantasy: Relink will require a certain number of specific items. Some of them can be found fairly quickly while others might take longer than usual and in some cases be confusing to where to look for them. Griffin Feathers will come in handy not only for upgrading your gears but also for completing some side-quests for more XP.

As the name of the item suggests, in order to get the feathers you must slay a Griffin. This is considered a boss enemy and the first time you will encounter it will be in Chapter 6: In Search of Hope. So first you must reach this part of the game in order to face the Griffin and be able to kill it.

Fighting the Griffin isn’t that hard but it can be frustrating for melee players since it tends to stay in the sky most of the time. Having a long-range weapon can help you a lot. Griffins are also weak towards Fire damage so having a character that can deal fire damage will also be beneficial.

Once you’ve killed the beast, you will receive your first share of Griffin Feathers. Afterward, you will unlock the Only You Can Prevent Forest Flyers quest that you can access from Folca or Seedhollow. In this quest, you will have to kill Griffin and you can repeat it as many times as you want. We also recommend watching The Gaming Golem’s video if you need further guidance:

Later on, when you reach the Veteran Skyfarere rank, you will unlock another quest called Drumsticks Au Griffin that you can complete and repeat which will reward you with a higher number of feathers as well as other items like Griffin Talons and Flawed Prisms.

Here is also a summary of the main steps you must take in order to obtain Griffin Feathers:

  • Reach Chapter 6 of the game
  • Complete the Only You Can Prevent Forest Flyer Quest
  • To farm feathers, replay this mission from the Quest Counter

Almost every pre-Hard upgrade of gears will require a certain number of Griffin feathers. Some weapons like Captian’s Sword of Eos will have level caps that Griffin Feathers can unlock and there are a bunch of Sigils like Attack Power or Critical Hit Rate that can only be upgraded by Griffin Feathers.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
