The characters that you can have in your party are part of what made the original Final Fantasy 7 so much fun. The new Remake and now Rebirth bring all those characters back in familiarly new ways. Now that Yuffie is in the picture as part of the Intergrade DLC, there’s the question of who else you’ll be able to recruit on your adventures. We’ve seen characters like Cid, Vincent, and Cait Sith from different promotional art, but does that mean you can add them to your party?

The party members that you’ll be able to recruit throughout your adventures across the open world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth include:

  • Tifa Lockhart
  • Barret Wallace
  • Aerith Gainsborough
  • Red XIII
  • Yuffie Kisaragi
  • Cait Sith

You’ll be able to meet the infamous pilot Cid Highwind and illusive vampire Vincent Valentine in your travels. However, they won’t be joining your party as part of this game. Originally, both Yuffie and Vincent were optional characters. This time around, they’re important characters that are part of the story itself. In fact, Cid helps you out from a relatively early point in the game. He just doesn’t join you as a spear-wielding ally.

There also comes a point where you meet Vincent in Chapter 11; however, he also doesn’t come to be part of your party. Like other loners in the party (cough, cough…Cloud), he would rather be on his own than around anyone else. You’ll still have the privilege of using Cait and Yuffie this time around.
