Finally, the moment that most players have been waiting for since the release of Natlan. The glorious Version 5.3 brings the debut of one of the most important characters of Genshin Impact, Maviuka, the Pyro Archon. The Archons, as gods, are among the most powerful lore-wise characters, but their utility is also very useful, and they suffer less from the nefarious power creep. However, the Genshin Impact 5.3 banners will also have Citlali, so we have two new 5-star characters simultaneously. This is, without a doubt, one of the most difficult decisions many will have to make.
Who is the Best Character in Genshin Impact 5.3 Banners?
The star of the Version is obviously Mavuika, and as with any other Archon, we can only expect a great kit from Natlan’s greatest warrior. However, Citlali will be in the same phase as her Archon, and as a Support, it’s easier for her to survive the power creep, making her the best addition to your team. Granny Itztli has a great Shield and applies Cryo. Citlali also makes Hydro and Pyro Resistance, which makes her the best partner for Mavuika in Melt teams. So it’s better to try to get Citlali first and then try to pull for Mavuika. Also, if you get Chasca in the previous Version, Citlali will be a great addition to her rotation, as Chasca will get more Melt reactions from her.
On the other hand, Mavuika is indeed a great DPS with excellent Pyro application, especially for Burning teams, for which you can even use 4-star characters like Bennett and Sucrose. The Pyro Archon can also work excellently as a Sub-DPS by improving the DMG of your characters, especially if they have Nightsoul’s Blessing. So this goddess can be handy for Kinich and to improve Mualani’s gameplay with Vaporize teams. Although Mavuika is an excellent character in Genshin Impact 5.3 banners, having her on a team with Citlali is much better. In the end, prioritize getting Citlali first.
Phase 2
Arlecchino will arrive for phase 2 of Genshin Impact 5.3 banners, and this Fatui is also an excellent option for a Pyro DPS. So, if you’re not convinced about pulling for Mavuika, Father has more flexibility. Arlecchino applies Pyro faster and easier, plus her rotations are not as strict, so if you skip a step or don’t make it, you don’t have to start again. However, Father’s playstyle has a more complex learning curve because of its Bond of Life mechanics. Besides, for Father, you need to invest more in her weapon and constellations, making it more complicated for F2P gamers.
Clorinde is also an excellent character and a great DPS for the short time she needs to be in the field. Clorinde is also a very flexible character who can be in different Elemental Reactions teams like Electrocharge. However, her attacks are not the most powerful for this Version. Also, if you have Clorinde in C0, you will have to deal a lot with enemies interrupting her attacks. With this duelist, Mavuika and Ororon can be great partners for new teams.
As always, which character is the best depends on the characters you already own. These four waifus are excellent, each in their own role, but if you need a DPS, Mavuika or Arlecchino are your main choices. Just remember that Father is much better with her Signature Weapon, and Mavuika needs Citlali; using the Pyro Archo as Sub-DPS could give you more advantage. This doesn’t mean that Clorinde is bad, but it’s not the optimal option for these banners; you can still complete The Abyss with her. Citlali is the best option for everything she provides as Support, and her gameplay can be more useful in the long run.
