Kids these days are always being told not to follow every single trend they see online for fear that it might be dangerous. However, some really are worth doing. A Las Vegas, Nevada, mother posted a video of herself and her son doing a trend that is hard to watch without getting teary-eyed. It must be so hard to be a parent and watch your children grow bigger and be able to do things on their own. No, you’re crying!
The above video was posted to the TikTok account @rylietarloy95, which belongs to a Las Vegas mother named Rylie Taylor. In the video, she explains to her eldest son, who looks to be about 13 or 14, that there is a theory that there is always a first time you do something and a last time you do something. So, because she had carried her son for the first time when he had just been born, she wanted to carry him for the last time before she wouldn’t be able to anymore.
While her son appears to simply be doing the trend to appease his mother, the caption says otherwise. His mom said, “He started bawling after I put him down 😭.” You can also see the sadness in her face, knowing that this truly would be the last time she would ever carry him. Everyone else in the comments seemed to realize this too, with one of the top ones saying, “him saying “mmhmm” Ik he holding back tears💔💔.” However, I’m glad she was even aware of the theory and was able to do it before he got too old.
Las Vegas Mother Sends Tears to Everyone’s Eyes With TikTok Trend
Everyone in the comments was just as moved by the gesture as she was. Many of the comments were something along the lines of, “warning: video gets blurry about half way through 😭😭😭,” with my personal favorite saying, “did you kiss the brick before you chucked it at my face?? 🥹.”
The trend has slowly been sweeping the social platform, with moms all over the world picking up their kids for the very last time before they physically aren’t able to anymore. There are even some comments that were photos of people carrying their children in their older age, with one posing for the camera while carrying his son, who is carrying his own son in turn. It’s always important to be in the moment because you never know when it will pass you by!
