Addison Rae might be feeling grateful about the reversal of the TikTok ban, but she just can’t give the credit to President Donald Trump. In 2019, she rose to become an overnight sensation after being one of the most followed persons on the video-sharing platform. Although Rae has since diversified from being a TikTok influencer with 100 million followers, she feared for her career when the ban happened. However, Trump came to the rescue at the eleventh hour.
In a new interview, Rae was asked if she felt the “urge” to appreciate the president for swooping in last minute. “No, because he was the one who created the problem in the first place,” she told Vogue France.
“He was the cause of the blockage. I remember the first time I heard about a possible ban of the app was around 2020. I was worried.”
However, the 24-year-old maintained she is “glad” the social media platform “survived.” Rae then touched on the rise of MAGA politics, admitting she is concerned for her queer fanbase. “Things are changing at a crazy speed,” she lamented. “It’s unbelievable to see how quickly one can abuse a newly acquired power.“
The Pepsi Diet artist noted that Trump’s administration is taking away “certain freedoms,” which is “very scary.”
Addison Rae Wants A World Full Of ‘Female Energy’
Although Addison Rae rarely gets political, she once denied support for Trump in 2021. After introducing herself to him at a UFC match in July 2021, she faced heavy backlash and had to defend herself. While speaking to the Los Angeles Times, the He’s All That star blatantly declared, “I don’t support Trump.”
She explained that it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet someone as prestigious as a former world leader at the time. Rae further noted that she is a “friendly person,” so greeting Trump meant nothing. Years later, the social media personality still embodies that perspective. In her final message to the Republican and his supporters, Addison Rae took a jab at Mark Zuckerberg’s demand for more “masculine energy.”
“I think we’ve had our fill of male energy! No need to add to it. What the world needs is female energy.”
Indeed, the Addison Rae Goes Home star is all about female power, as she endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the last election. She posted a clip of Harris and a caption encouraging people to vote, which many interpreted as an endorsement. Unfortunately, Trump emerged the winner.
Unlike most of Hollywood, Rae has remained mostly quiet about the election result. However, she seems to be finding her voice now, and Trump might not like it.
