Bill Burr puts Elon Musk in his place with scathing reminder of his “immigrant” history following Nazi salute but his statement enrages the Democrats. Musk, an open supporter of US President Donald Trump throughout his presidential campaign, sparked outrage in January with his questionable hand gesture while giving a speech at a Trump inauguration event. His hand gesture, likened to the Sieg Heil was widely interpreted as a tribute to the Nazi ruler, Adolph Hitler. Weeks later, the initial outrage seems to have fizzled out with little mentions of it in the media, leaving many believing the billionaire CEO got off easily.
Among those dissatisfied with this seeming lack of repercussion after Elon Musk’s big flop is American comedian and podcaster Bill Burr. The 56-year-old graced an interview on The Breakfast Club this week as part of his press tour for his new Hulu comedy special, seizing the moment to tear down the Tesla CEO, The Daily Beast reported.
Bill Burr Blames Democrats For Elon Musk’s Narrow Escape After Nazi Salute Hoax

Speaking to interviewer, Burr admitted that he couldn’t understand how Musk still had support after his Nazi salute, suggesting it was a slap to the face of countless veterans and “people in armed services” who died to stop Hitler. He also took a swipe at Musk’s family background, describing him as “an immigrant,” in the heated rant. Burr fired,
“This guy comes in, you know, and does that [salute], while being an immigrant too, which is… the whole thing, none of it tracks. How can you be like support the troops— America love it or leave it — and then guy this comes in and gives a shoutout to Hitler.”
Bill Burr clarified that his rants against Elon Musk and his Nazi salute had nothing to do with politics. Yet, he found himself always being “politicized” by both the Democrats and the Republicans. Going further, the comedian revealed he wasn’t trashing Republicans, as he understood that Musk, and not all Republicans, did the Sieg Heil. He then proceeded to call out the Democrats for not dragging the issue further, ultimately, letting the billionaire get off easily with his Hitler salute. The podcaster quipped,
“I was just amazed that all liberals had was one day of outrage. Then they’re like, ‘Oh, I guess that didn’t work.’ And I guess we just kind of move on.”
Fans Disprove Burr’s Claims
While Bill Burr’s Democrat reference may have been his version of a call to action, netizens deemed it an obvious dig at the liberals, taking to social media to hit back at him. They also pointed out how wrong his assertions were considering several Americans have continued their protests by boycotting Musk’s products, leading to a plunge in Tesla’s stocks. Via Reddit, one enraged Democrat fired,
“One day of outrage? Am I missing something? The continuing intense protesting of Tesla, causing stock prices to freefall, and a brand name that’s become toxic? I don’t know which “liberals” Burr doesn’t think are staying pissed, but every one that I know is doing the kind of outage that actually resonates with these fucks – hitting their bottom lines.”

Another wrote,
“I don’t get why he’s blaming liberals for not being proactive enough in calling it out when conservatives are simply denying it happened in the first place?”
A third divulged,
“I can somewhat understand calling out the liberals. But to combine it with ‘I’m not trashing Republicans’ is crazy. It’s like, we know the Republicans are going to be Nazi apologists, that’s a given, so it’s obviously up to the Democrats to make noise … but we don’t put any blame on the Republicans?”
Liberals Hit Back At Burr After Subtle Dig
Some fans took direct hits at Bill Burr, citing inconsistent patterns in his “political” rants over the years. One fan pointed out how hypocritical the comedian’s latest rant was, considering he spent the “last two years” trashing the liberals for constantly complaining and whining about certain policies. Yet, just to make a point in his verbal attack on Elon Musk after the controversial Nazi salute, Bill Burr suddenly thinks the liberals “do not complain enough.” Another hit at the comedian, saying,
“One day he’s a “liberal”, the next he hates them. ‘What I don’t get is the…’ Then why are you talking? There’s no value is bitching ignorantly, lol. This man has no valid politics at all.”

Another added,
“Bill Burr seems like the kind of guy who only knows liberals with a net worth over a million. He needs to stop crying and pointing fingers, and go talk to some working-class liberal democrats.”
Meanwhile, several netizens completely agreed with Burr’s remarks about the Democrats, backing his stance that the liberals were not doing enough to attain the America of their dream. Some implied the Democrats preferred to take a step back in fear of the ruling party, opting instead to hide behind excuses and victimhood. One wrote,
“The cowardice of the Democratic Party is shocking. They don’t have the majority, but that’s never stopped Republicans. It’s like they’re in a corner sucking their thumb trying to find their happy place. Late night talk show hosts can’t be the only ones taking on the burden of revealing the idiocy of Trump.”
This isn’t the first time Burr would take a jab at the Democratic Party in his effort to prove a political point. Earlier this week, the comedian ruffled feathers during his interview on NPR’s Fresh Air. While trashing Elon Musk and his Nazi Salute, Bill Burr made scathing remarks slamming the liberals for their scared reaction to the the tech mogul’s growing political influence. Although many democrats believe he went about it the wrong way despite having good intentions, Burr’s message is quite clear: Boycott Elon Musk.
