TLC has thrilled viewers with their groundbreaking reality TV series Sister Wives since the show first debuted on the network on September 26, 2010. The show gave viewers an in-depth look at the polygamist culture in America. It chronicled the journey of Kody Brown alongside his four wives and their 18 children. However, season 17 of the series saw the complete disintegration of Kody’s polygamous family.
Christine Brown was Kody’s third wife, but she was the first of his four wives to leave the group. Kody’s second wife, Janelle Brown, also left him. Earlier this year, Kody and his first wife, Meri Brown, announced their split. Most of the show’s fans felt the series of divorces spelled the end of the show — with Kody now only married to his fourth wife, Robyn Brown.
However, Kody put all the speculations to bed when he confirmed there would be another season in a special video to a fan named Meghan. TikTok user @ranchernikkitv released the video, albeit with the permission of Kody. In the video, Kody thanked Meghan for being a big fan of Sister Wives before giving some details about season 18. Afterward, Kody turned his camera to introduce two other men —Nathan Dilts and Brian Coalwell. He then surprised fans by announcing,
“These two guys are in the next season. They sit down with me to talk about my imminent — or, my sudden and terrible divorce.”
The video ended with Kody sending Meghan his best wishes. While the confirmation of another Sister Wives season excited fans, they found it hard to warm up to Kody’s “guy friends” introduction to the series.
Sister Wives Kody and His Friends Are Lame

For loyal fans and long-time viewers of Sister Wives, Kody’s friends are not unfamiliar faces on the series. During season 17, Kody drove to Oklahoma to officiate Brian’s wedding. Meanwhile, Nathan is much closer to home because he is married to Kody’s ex-wife Meri’s sister, Rebekah Dilts. Nathan and Rebekah have previously appeared on the show during season 4. Another interesting thing to note about Kody and his friends is that they are business partners.
The trio are official members of US Tactical LLC. The company was registered in Utah in April 2022 and appears to be a business that sells guns and accessories. Interestingly, the producers have tried to avoid Kody’s involvement in the gun business for most of the series. So it would be interesting to see how they manage the conversations between the trio in the upcoming season. From the little ‘Sister Wives’ fans have seen of Kody’s friends, they aren’t so thrilled about their inclusion in the upcoming season and have been expressing their displeasure on social media. On Reddit, one particular fan Different_Falcon8596 recently started a thread to discuss the cast update.
Many commenters highlighted how Kody is so “weird with men.” Several users also said they would skip most of the season. They have no interest in watching Kody’s interaction with his friends. Some users quickly pointed out how the show should be about Sister Wives and argued that including Kody’s guy friends didn’t just cut it. Although most Sister Wives viewers are adamant that this is the beginning of the end of the series, it would still be interesting to see how TLC intends to spin this storyline.
