For the most part, Amazon Prime’s Fallout series went down swimmingly with fans, but Michael Rapaport’s appearance in the season’s second episode rained on their parade. The controversial actor and comedian, who also played Gary in the sitcom Friends, joined the Fallout cast in the role of Knight Titus, a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.

Rapaport’s role in Fallout turned a few heads for all the wrong reasons as the actor has shared some unsavory opinions recently. Aside from his work on Friends, Rapaport is known for portraying Tom Scoggins in Deep Blue Sea and Dick Ritchie in True Romance. But his political views, which some consider controversial, tarnished his role somewhat.

***WARNING: The following article contains minor spoilers for Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout.***

Who Is Michael Rapaport?

The 54-year-old actor-comedian, born in New York City, has made several film and television appearances in the last dew decades. He made this acting debut in 1990 in an episode of the war drama series China Beach.

From there, he secured roles in Fresh Prince of Bel Air, NYPD Blue, and Rude Awakening. He became a recurring cast member on Season 5 of Friends, then gained further recognition as Daryl Crowe Jr. in Justified. Rapaport has starred in the feature films Once Upon a Time in Queens, Kiss of the Damned, Sully, and Blackjack: The Jackie Ryan Story.

In 1997, Rapaport was arrested for harassing his ex-girlfriend Lili Taylor and charged with two counts of aggravated harassment. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was forbidden from contacting Taylor, as well as forced to undergo counseling sessions.

Who Does Michael Rapaport Play In Fallout?

As Knight Titus, Rapaport’s character joins Aaron Moten’s Maximus on his first mission as a Squire. As Maximus’s superior, Titus often berates Maximus and treats him as inferior to himself. The pair undergo a search for a man and his dog whom the Brotherhood believes could be valuable assets.

However, upon arriving in the eastern forests of the Los Angeles Wasteland, the pair encounter an irradiated bear. The bear beelines for Titus, who cannot fend off the creature alone. In the end, Maximus is forced to come to his aid and shoots the bear in the head. With Titus incapacitated, Maximus strips him of his armor and heads towards LA.

Michael Rapaport’s Controversial Political Views

As the U.S. inches closer to the 2024 election, Rapaport has publicly backed Donald Trump online. He has also denied the ongoing genocide from the Israel-Hamas war happening in Gaza, suggesting the Israeli government is innocent in the matter.

Needless to say, Fallout viewers had some unsavory thoughts of their own for Rapaport, who plays an inconsequential and short-lived role.

In 2024, Rapaport criticized the Canadian government for halting the sales of arms to the Israeli government. He has also mocked Palestine and called for the shutting down of UNRWA, as well as discouraging others from donating to Palestinian aid.

Rapaport’s death scene cuts before any definitive answer is given as to whether his character survives, but for Fallout‘s sake, he’d better be. Fans might not be too impressed otherwise.
