Melania Trump is not fazed about her husband, Donald Trump‘s poor parenting skills. The former president is currently in the middle of his hush money criminal trial in New York. As a result, it is possible the former politician might not be present for his son Barron’s graduation next month. While that might seem like a bad thing, Melania is reportedly on cloud nine about not having Donald at such an important family event.
Melania Trump Pleased With Donald Trump’s Possible Absence
Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen dished on the family matter. According to Cohen, the former first lady is least affected by her husband possibly missing their son’s high school graduation. Cohen, while on MediasTouch Network‘s Political Beatdown podcast, revealed that Donald wasn’t the best parents to his older kids. Hence, Barron wouldn’t be an exception.
“I wasn’t aware he went to any of the kids’ graduations. Not to mention, when it related to school here in Manhattan, this, of course, was way prior to Trump decided to run. It was Melania and I that put Barron into school here — private school here in Manhattan,” the attorney said.
Cohen further noted that he and Melania were mainly responsible for Barron’s education with Donald having little to no input. It was so bad that the attorney alleged he missed important life events because he was doing things for the former president.
“Before I start shedding a tear for him, for Barron, and I’m sure Melania is extremely excited he’s not going to be there, rest assured, I am not losing any sleep nor am I going to shed a tear that Trump can’t go to Barron’s graduation.”
Donald Trump Threw A Tantrum Over Son’s Graduation
Despite Melania’s joy about being the only parent at her son’s graduation, Donald doesn’t feel the same way. The businessman publicly acted up about the inconvenience while in court. Earlier this week, Donald requested that he be absent from court during the trial. He cited Barron’s graduation. Unfortunately, his request was met with indifference from the judge.
Per OK Magazine, Judge Juan Merchan responded,
“Regarding counsel’s request that the court adjourn on Friday, May 17th for Mr. Trump to attend his son’s high school graduation and Friday, June 3rd to allow a member of the defense team to attend their son’s graduation, I cannot rule on those two requests at this time.”
Judge Merchan continued,
“It really depends on how we are doing on time and where we are in the trial. If everything is going according to schedule without unnecessary delays, then I am sure we will be able to adjourn for one or both of those days, but if we are running behind schedule, we will not be able to.”
With such an indefinite answer from the judge, Melania Trump might just get her wishes and have Barron all to herself during his graduation.
