Split Screen in Fortnite is a feature that allows two different players to play the game on a single device. When you activate this feature, the screen splits in two, with your friend playing on one side of the screen and you playing on the other. This way, you can have fun with your friends or avoid fighting with your sibling over the Fortnite turn. However, the Split Screen feature is currently not working in Fortnite, which makes us wonder if Epic Games has removed it.

Why Split Screen Not Working in Fortnite

Due to a matchmaking issue in Fortnite on April 9, 2024, the Split Screen feature was temporarily disabled. Once this issue is resolved, the Split Screen feature will be activated and players will be able to use it again. There is no exact timeline for when this issue will be resolved, but you can stay up to date with the latest updates by following @FortniteStatus on the X platform formerly known as Twitter.

While we work to resolve a matchmaking issue, we are temporarily disabling Splitscreen play.

We’ll provide another update when we have more info and this issue is fixed. pic.twitter.com/4rm5ygCfZw

Since Epic Games has intentionally disabled this feature, there is currently nothing you can do to fix it. As we mentioned earlier, the only thing you can do is follow the latest updates on the account above.

While it’s disappointing that this feature that many of us use is temporarily disabled, remember to be patient and respectful to developers. After all, they are the ones who developed this beautiful game and made it possible for us to enjoy it.

If you want to play Fortnite Split Screen with your friends and don’t know how to activate the feature, we recommend you to check out the video below we’ve selected for you from the YouTube channel called spllitz:
