While most people have a healthy sense of self-preservation and know better than to mess with someone who’s actively driving a car, there are always a few who seem to think it’s perfectly fine. If you want a perfect example of that kind of reckless behavior, just check out this short clip that’s been making the rounds on social media. In the video, you see a man and a woman driving down a road in Dallas, Texas.
It starts with the man checking his phone, which isn’t exactly safe, but according to the context, it seems he was handed the phone to look at a message, allegedly from someone named Lisa, who might be a mutual friend. The man clarified that Lisa was texting her, not him.
That’s when things took a turn. The woman suddenly reached over and grabbed the steering wheel, yanking it hard and sharply enough to almost cause a crash. It was a terrifying moment, but luckily they both came out of it without injury, though definitely shaken. Despite how dangerous her actions were, the woman had a smirk on her face, clearly showing she meant to do it. The man, understandably in shock, didn’t lash out. In fact, he stayed surprisingly calm, his voice quiet and resigned.
The woman said, “I don’t know what you want from me,” to which the man replied, “I just got this car.” She responded flatly, “I know,” still completely unapologetic. Then she told him to pull over somewhere, likely wanting to be let out. And, surprisingly, the man did just that, his face still half in disbelief at what had just happened.
When many people saw the viral video of the near car accident, criticism quickly poured in toward the Dallas woman. Viewers widely agreed that her actions were clearly intentional. One Redditor wrote, “She’s a sociopath even if it is for the ‘gram. The complete calm and lack of remorse is a dead giveaway.”
Others argued that the man should report the incident to the police and submit the video as evidence. However, some pointed out that doing so might also land the driver in trouble since he appeared to be looking at his phone while driving his car.
Despite the danger he faced, many commended the man’s ability to stay calm and avoid lashing out. One commenter observed, “If you look at his face in the last few frames, he’s clearly trying not to start crying. I hope he leaves this chick. I can’t tell if he was on his phone or checking a smartwatch, but bro didn’t deserve that.”
