Financial problems hit the whole tech companies, and some of them chose to go layoffs to keep the shutter open. 343 Industries, developer of the Halo games, is one of the companies that lost a part of its workforce after the layoffs. The studio is working under Microsoft, and the company ended its contract with nearly 10.000 employees. This includes workers from all parts of the company, including Xbox and 343 Industries. Xbox Game Studios is the parent studio of 343, so there’s also a big job cut on 343. The Halo fanbase started worrying if the studio would stop working on the Halo series. Thankfully, the question is clearly answered in a short time. Here’s the announcement about their plans for Halo.
Will 343 Industries Keep Making Halo Games? Answered
As their announcement says, 343 isn’t stopping developing Halo games now or in the future. Things are the same for the company, and the developer won’t change, and the Halo series’ development won’t go slower. Here’s the full announcement:
“The layoffs at 343 shouldn’t have happened, and Halo Infinite should be in a better state,” former Halo Infinite multiplayer designer, Patrick Wren, tweeted Wednesday night. “The reason for both of those things is incompetent leadership up top during Halo Infinite development causing massive stress on those working hard to make Halo the best it can be.”
Layoffs are a general problem for nearly all companies in the US. Some of them are fighting against serious financial problems and keeping their workforce. But big companies like Microsoft have thousands of employees, and each of them gets an above-sector salary. The company decides not to work with a part of its workforce, and this puts them in a financial and spiritual crisis.
Halo Infinite doesn’t seem to be affected, but it’s inevitable to see any effects on Microsoft products. The rest of the workforce will work harder to make the consumer side not be affected. 2023 might be the year of delays, and we hope it wouldn’t.
