The latest installment in the WitchSpring series has been given an official release date of August 13 for both European and North American markets. Both a boxed retail edition and a downloadable digital store version will be available for the Nintendo Switch. WitchSpring 3 Re:Fine — The Story of Eirudy is a remaster of the WitchSpring 3 which was originally released in 2017 on the Google Play Store, and then had a subsequent release on Nintendo Switch in December 2020.

The game hosts a wide range of entrancing features to immerse anyone into the experience, regardless of the fact if you’ve ever played any of the WitchSpring series beforehand. The flourishing JRPG offers players a breathtaking storyline filled with captivating characters throughout all voiced by famous Japanese voice actors. There are different story paths for the player to undertake, along with turn-based battles, and an excellent customizable magic system.

The player partakes in the story as the protagonist witch Eirudy, living in the stunning ‘Misty Forest’ where she has been living in seclusion from the outside world that unfortunately does not take fondly to her abilities. The player throughout the story will be determining the fate of humans and deities as a whole on the continent Derkarr. ‘Dolls’ play an important role throughout the game, they are some of Eirudy’s faithful companions, who can be brought to life by her soul stone after defeating monsters around the world.

Up to three dolls can be summoned at a time and fans of the Nights of Azure series will be familiar with the mechanics of the companions in battle, however, there is an added bonus with WitchSpring 3 in that a number of companions can also be used for transportation around the map. One of which is akin to a white-tailed wolf form which I have my eyes on to test out in the bountiful world.
