Marvel celebrates Wolverine’s 50th anniversary next year with a brand-new variant cover series. Aptly titled the Wolverine Wolverine Wolverine variant series, these covers pay homage to iconic covers from Marvel’s past. Beginning January 3, titles like Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Doctor Strange, and more will feature the clawed mutant. These covers give artists the opportunity to go wild with their favorite Wolverine costumes and personas. Plus, other characters of the clawed variety may pop up.

Next year officially marks Wolverine’s 50th anniversary. Throughout different names, outfits, and teams, the popular mutant has graced comics for five decades. No matter if you know him as Weapon X, Logan, an X-Man, or James Howlett, everyone has their favorite Wolverine moment. Now, these new variants will put the Marvel hero in the middle of classic Marvel covers.

Not only is Wolverine’s 50th anniversary honored by these variants, but there is also a new series to celebrate the occasion. The recently announced Wolverine: Madripoor Knights serves as a sequel to one of the mutant’s iconic adventures. From the team of Chris Claremont and Edgar Salazar, the limited series picks up where Uncanny X-Men #268 left off. If that isn’t enough, Marvel is also bringing some special reprints for the celebration.
