A woman accuses an Ohio restaurant, Astra Rooftop, of alleged selective treatment and discrimination for not letting her and her friends enter. She posted a TikTok to her channel, @lovelyme503, showing who was and wasn’t allowed inside. The video has over 85,000 views and over 6,000 likes since it was posted.
The alleged incident occurred at the Astra Rooftop restaurant located in Columbus, Ohio, on the eighth floor of the AC Hotel. Eribeauty_7 claims she and her friends weren’t allowed into the restaurant because they didn’t fit the business casual dress code. However, in the video, she shows customers who were allowed and claims their outfits didn’t fit the dress code either. At one point, Eribeauty_7 states, “He’s in shorts. Business casual. I have not seen it.”
Multiple customers are seen wearing hoodies, sneakers, and casual wear. She tells the employee, “I don’t think those sneakers are business casual.” The man insists that if she had a reservation, then she would have been allowed into the restaurant. However, she claims that he sent two men away without asking if they had one, and never asked if she was a guest at the hotel. There is a brief interaction between the employee and Eribeauty_7 over whether or not she’s recording. Meanwhile, one of her friends asks for further clarification about the dress code, arguing that the “policy should be applied to everyone.” The friend accuses the employee of picking and choosing based on his own opinion. In the video, Eribeauty_7 alleges that she caught him “agree[ing] that they ‘pick and choose’ who the policy applies to.”
Several React To The Ohio Restaurant
Several react to the video, calling out the dress code and the employee’s alleged behavior. One even has a suggestion for Eribeauty_7: “Girl, I would sue their commercial insurance for discrimination and get a payout.” Meanwhile, several comment that they have been to the restaurant well under casual and were allowed inside. One says, “I’ve been in Astra in a sweatshirt and sneakers… he was being a bully.” Another claims, “Any bars with a dress code literally use it just to be racist THAT’S IT.”
Several call out the clothing that was permitted and want to know how those are business casual. One says, “No jeans but people are walking out with jeans…disgraceful.” Another comment reads, “Girlll … I’m mad at the outfits that walked in there… like wait, huh.” One person adds, “So jeans and dirty sneakers are fine…okay 😒.”
Eribeauty_7 claims the manager initially sided with the employee until he learned the alleged incident would be posted on social media. She promises to post an update about the situation when she has one.
