Woman Allegedly Saved From Alabama White Supremacy Cult, Teary-Eyed as She Recounts Muslims Saving Her, ‘I’m grateful that the world is finally seeing the truth’

Harrowing and sweet

TikToker Nikalie Monroe made social media buzz when she conducted an interesting social experiment with churches, tallying which churches would offer baby formula for free. The one church that passed the test? The Islamic Center of Charlotte—not a church, but a mosque. That level of kindness reached the eyes and ears of one survivor in Alabama, who was so moved by that she shared her story of allegedly being helped by a group of Muslims.

Almost 20 years ago it was the same. I said I don’t wanna be here and they are forcing me. I’m an adult and I’m scared and I just don’t wanna be here but they won’t let us leave…. The Egyptian family that protected me. I’ll never forget. Ever. #mosque #islam #formula #love #deconstruct

TikToker Savanna Kim shared a video on social media, responding to the kindness the mosques were representing. And, according to her, it’s not the first time Muslims did something life-changing for someone. For Savanna, what Muslims did to her saved her life: “Almost 20 years after Muslims saved me from an evangelical extremist society and helped me escape to Cincinnati so I could be free. I love Muslim people the same way they love us. Without hesitation.”

In a follow-up video, Savanna shares all. She says she grew up in a “white supremacy cult in Alabama,” and claims her family paid thousands of dollars to adopt her when she was born. Her life in the cult was horrendous, such as being told she’d be marrying a man who was much older than her when she was a teenager.: she was told that she needed to marry a specific man who was much older than her as a teenager. Savanna was controlled in every aspect of her life, financially and educationally, until she was 21 years old.

Eventually, Savanna decided “Cincinnati was the answer” and decided she was going to flee once and for all. She knew how the evangelical cult members felt about Muslim people, having talked poorly about them in the past. So, Savanna decided to ask for help at a mosque, where she figured they’d never find her.

According to Savanna, an Egyptian family dressed her up and helped her flee the town. An Egyptian family who practiced at the Mosque apparently helped her flee the town she lived in. Savanna said she wasn’t about to “fumble the opportunity” of taking control of her own life. Now, she says she’ll “never forget” that kindness.

“Growing up, it broke my heart to see Islam being slandered so badly. Today, I’m grateful that the world is finally seeing the truth,” one commenter said.

“To be Muslim you have to not only stand by your Muslim community also with the other communities. Not excluding animals. Even nature has to be cared for trees, plants, insects,” another stated. What matters most is that people do the right thing, regardless if it aligns with their religion or not.
