Unless you personally know a business’s owner, trying to put the payment on your tab isn’t going to fly. However, one California woman didn’t seem to understand that, as she refused to pay after getting her nails done at a Long Beach nail salon. According to the shop, the woman went to their store on March 7 and received full-set acrylic and pedicure services from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. After the services were finished, she didn’t pull out her card or cash and instead claimed she would come back the next day to pay.
In the video, you can see the woman talking with an employee inside the shop. Outside the door, where the camera-woman and another woman were standing, they quickly moved to stop the California woman when she tried to leave the nail salon. The woman said that the employee inside had agreed to let her pay tomorrow. The nail salon employees refused to let her go so easily, though, as they followed her to the parking lot.
The woman claimed that she had connections with the police department because her father was a police officer. One of the female store employees said that she didn’t care. In the end, the nail salon gave her three days, but she has not returned and has not paid for the services. Now, the California nail salon hopes that people on the internet will be able to identify this woman and inform them.
The internet was outraged upon seeing how the California woman refused to pay the nail salon. “This is called theft of services and is illegal. She’s on tape admitting to leaving without paying. Case closed,” one user said. Another wrote, “I feel so bad for the staff that had to deal with this entitled woman. In this age of social media, I hope she’s identified quickly and charged for the theft of services. The police should be able to follow the registration from that plate.”
Others suggested that the California nail salon should call the police and provide her license plate. “You have video of her admitting to not paying and claiming to ‘return tomorrow’ to pay, which she hasn’t. She should be able to be charged,” one user said. Another user remarked that it might be her father who responds, but others said that then he should deal with her. One redditor wrote, “Call her dad and have him arrest her.”
Some commenters doubted the woman’s claim about being connected to the police. “Did she say her father is a police officer with the sheriff’s…reserves??? Is that even a thing?” one commenter asked.
