A woman says a janitor changed the toilet paper right outside her occupied stall at a Virginia airport. She says the experience left her feeling exposed, especially after she told the worker to stop. Reactions divided, with many saying the worker should have waited until the restroom was empty, while others defended her as simply trying to do her job.
Posted to TikTok by @carofiney, the video shows a Virginia airport janitor changing the toilet paper roll from the other side of an occupied stall. The creator repeats that it is “not okay” and tells the worker that she can see through the stall. “Don’t do that again, that’s not appropriate,” she says.
According to the on-screen text, the creator asks whether she’s wrong for being upset. She adds that it doesn’t matter that the worker is another woman, especially since the janitor continued despite her objections. The caption simply reads, “Need advice here.”
Viewers Questioned the Janitor’s Actions
Some viewers wanted to see the Virginia employee face consequences. “I really hope you try and get a bag outta this. I am so so sorry that happened to you!” one commenter wrote. Another told her to skip contacting the company and go straight to an attorney and the state.
Former airport cleaners also weighed in, sharing how they were trained to handle situations like this. One explained, “we were told to wait for the bathrooms to be empty and then close it while you clean so nobody is in there.”
The double standard also drew criticism. “how are people defending this… if it was a man yall would be freaking out but you dont realize women can be pervs too,” one viewer argued. Another agreed, pointing out that “janitors are generally not supposed to clean or anything while people are using the restroom it’s invasion of their privacy.”
Not everyone thought the Virginia janitor had done anything wrong. “bruh she is not even looking at you just let her change the roll,” one commenter insisted. Another argued that the worker didn’t design the stall and was just trying to do her job. Someone else suggested she might have had headphones in and didn’t realize how upset the creator was.
Consent matters in everyday situations, not just relationships. The creator made it clear that she felt her privacy was being violated and repeatedly asked the janitor to stop. Regardless of whether the employee was just doing her job, that should have been enough for her to stop and respect the request.
