The turn-based genre, a genre as old as time itself. From its early beginnings in games like the original Final Fantasy all the way to modern adaptations in games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and XCOM. It’s gained a name for itself, remaining one of the most popular genres in gaming as a whole. One very infamous series under this genre is the Worms series, which has spanned numerous wonderfully charming entries. Tomorrow though, their infamy as a turn-based series changes. Worms Rumble releases on PC, PS4, and PS5 tomorrow, bringing the series into a real-time setting for the first time ever. You can check out the intense launch trailer below.

Worms Rumble Launch Trailer

Worms Rumble takes things to the next level, offering real-time battles at a grand scale. Drop-in as one of 32 worms as you battle your way to be the last worm standing. Using a variety of weapons both iconic and fresh for the series, you’ll explode your way to the top spot in a way never seen before. Not only that, but you can do that all through crossplay as well. What more could you ask for? Worms Rumble offers three maps at launch (Missile Mall, Portal Park, and Transforming Towers) with more to come in the weeks and months ahead. There should be no shortage of content for those who enjoy this year’s Worms entry.

If you’re on PlayStation 4 or 5, do I have good news for you. You can pick up the game completely free, thanks to a partnership with Sony’s PlayStation Plus service. You’ll have until the end of December to claim it, so be sure to act fast so you can join the fun. If you’re playing on PC, you can pick up the game at $14.99 through Steam.

Will you be trying Worms Rumble? What are your thoughts on the switch from turn-based to real-time? Let me know in the comments below.
